Sarah Boyer, Violin
Violinist, Sarah Findlay Boyer, was born into a musical family and began playing the violin on her 5th birthday. Throughout her childhood she became an experienced concert-goer, including regularly attending the Toronto Symphony Orchestra, in which her father, William Findlay, was a full-time cellist. She studied at the Royal Conservatory of Music in Toronto, the Banff centre, and the Eastman School of Music, University of Rochester. Sarah has performed with the Toronto Symphony Orchestra, Hamilton Philharmonic, Kitchener Waterloo Symphony, and Orchestra London. As a core member of the Juno award—winning Sinfonia Toronto, Sarah toured Germany, Spain, South America, and China. She toured Italy, The Czech Republic, and Poland with the European Mozart Academy and has performed chamber and solo concerts for Incontri di Canna, Italy.
Sarah is a core member of Ensemble Vivant, whose concerts and recordings are acclaimed internationally for their magical deeply communicative music-making that touches the hearts and souls of listeners of all ages and backgrounds. A long-time educator, Sarah is proud to be associated with Ensemble Vivant’s flagship education program, the registered not-for-profit charity Euterpe: Music Is The Key (musicisthekey.org), which brings unique genre-diverse programming to children of many cultural backgrounds as well as seniors in disadvantaged communities, who do not have access to these life-enhancing opportunities. These invaluable programs have been endorsed by leading neuroscientists on Music and The Mind.
