The Brazilian composer and pianist ERNESTO NAZARETH was especially noted for creatively combining diverse influences in his compositions, including from Latin countries, from European classical music, African rhythms and Ragtime. He has been referred to as The Scott Joplin of Brazil. His collection of Brazilian Tangos, which are in Ragtime form, have Nazareth’s distinctive Latin flavour. Garôto is one of his more popular Brazilian Tangos.
