It is with great sadness that I write about the passing on June 26, 2022 of violinist supreme, Adele Armin.

I had the privilege of performing with Adele in Ensemble Vivant for 10 years. In addition to the many concerts over the years, we recorded 2 albums, one of which was from a live performance, both of which continue to receive regular airplay on radio stations nationally and internationally.

A violinist steeped in the Classical tradition, she was equally comfortable performing Jazz styles. She brought to the group her wealth of musical training, her tremendous talent and intelligence along with her interest and exploration of so many other fascinating areas in life. It was always a joyous and meaningful experience making music with her.

Our friendship began through Ensemble Vivant and extended outside of the group allowing us to share many adventures. With her interest in learning French, the minute she heard that I was going to be in Paris, she booked a flight to join me there, this being one among many examples of her spontaneity and joie de vivre.

Adele admired and supported Euterpe: Music Is The Key, the registered not-for-profit charity which I founded many years ago. She described Euterpe: Music Is The Key as being one of the most important charities in Canada.

Adele was a shining star, and although she will be forever missed, her beautiful light will continue to live in all who had the privilege of knowing her.
